Brunchin’ in Boise: My Top 5 Picks for a Delicious Start to Your Day

As a longtime Boise local and self-proclaimed brunch enthusiast, I’ve had the pleasure of exploring the best brunch spots our area has to offer (all for research of course). Whether you’re a fan of sweet, savory, or a little bit of both, these five establishments never fail to deliver a memorable mid-morning feast.

1. Red Feather Lounge (Downtown Boise)

If brunch were a sport, Red Feather Lounge would absolutely be bringing home the gold. Located right in the heart of downtown, this cozy gem is a staple in my brunch rotation. And while the Avocado Toast and Belgian Waffle are solid choices, my forever favorite is the Rancheros Verdes. The verde sauce is so good it deserves its own round of applause. Trust me, this dish is a whole moment. Add one of their handcrafted cocktails to the mix and boom—weekend made.

2. Crave Kitchen & Bar (Eagle)

Crave Kitchen & Bar in Eagle is the brunch spot that makes you feel fancy without actually having to brush your hair (but like… you probably still should). The rooftop patio is perfect for catching some sun while you mentally prepare to conquer your day—or not. My go-to? It’s a toss-up between the Breakfast Burrito (which is basically a warm hug wrapped in a tortilla) and the Tamale Benedict, which is hands-down one of the most creative and delicious things you’ll ever put in your mouth before noon. Add a craft cocktail, and you’ve officially leveled up your brunch game.

3. The Griddle (Boise, Meridian, Eagle, & Nampa)

The Griddle is ‘diner style fare with a gourmet twist’ and it’s one of those spots that just gets breakfast. You’re not going to leave here hungry—or disappointed. My favorite? Auntie Mo’s Spuds. Crispy hashbrowns loaded with bacon, mushrooms, onions, peppers, cheese, and topped with eggs. It’s everything you didn’t know you needed, and then some. You also have to make sure you try some of their house-made jam or salsa, they’re both drool worthy.

*note – reservations are not accepted at The Griddle and it gets busy on the weekends, so go early, or be prepared to wait!*

4. Trillium (Downtown Boise)

Trillium is like the cool friend who always knows the newest trends. It’s stylish but not stuffy, and their menu is full of creative twists on comfort food. I’m a big fan of their smoked chicken chilaquiles or their breakfast burrito, but honestly, everything they do is thoughtfully crafted and seriously delicious. The vibe here is relaxed, upscale, and perfect for everything from a birthday brunch to a “just because it’s the weekend” meal. Pro tip: get an espresso martini—you won’t regret it.

5. Eight Thirty Common (Meridian)

Eight Thirty Common is one of those places that makes you feel cooler just for walking in. Their vibe is modern but laid-back, with a menu that’s just as Instagrammable as it is drool-worthy. The Chicken & Waffles is a fan favorite for good reason—crispy, juicy, and paired with just the right amount of maple magic. And if you’re more of a savory breakfast sandwich type, they’ve got options that’ll make you forget all about that sad granola bar you usually grab during the week. Bonus: their cocktails are brunch-worthy masterpieces, and the staff? Super friendly. 10/10 would recommend for your next brunch crawl stop.

Final Thoughts (a.k.a. my love letter to brunch)

Brunch isn’t just a meal. It’s an event. A vibe. A lifestyle. Whether you’re downtown, in Eagle, Meridian, or somewhere in between, these five spots are serving up some of the best of Boise’s brunch scene—and probably saving lives one mimosa at a time (okay, maybe not literally, but it feels that way).

Last thing, if you’re brunching with friends who don’t all order something different so you can try a little bit of everything, you need new friends. I don’t make the rules, but I’ll definitely join your brunch crew if you’re looking for a new friend!

Cheers!
